Beijing Telecom 5G CPE rural scenario speed measurement results: downlink 322Mbps, uplink 109Mbps

Recently, China Telecom Beijing Branch and Huawei teamed up to launch China Telecom's first 5G FWA

Fixed Wireless Access commercial pilot project.

It is reported that this service aims to provide a high-speed internet experience comparable to fiber optic and quickly solve broadband access problems in areas where fiber optic has not yet reached. The pilot verification results show that the downlink speed of 5G FWA on the user end can be comparable to 300M wired broadband, and the uplink experience can also reach the level of 100Mbps, easily meeting the diversified needs of home users, such as high-definition TV viewing, large-scale online games, online education, and video monitoring.

According to IT Home, 5G FWA (fixed wireless access) is an Internet service that uses 5G wireless technology to provide users with home Internet connections, rather than through copper or optical fiber.

155 operators worldwide have invested in 5G FWA services, using 5G CPE (Customer Premises Equipment, a new type of wireless router) to connect 5G base stations wirelessly, quickly solving the problem of covering the last mile of home width.

Huawei announces three significant values of 5G FWA:

Diversified scenario applicability: Whether it is rural areas without fiber optic coverage, rental apartments, urban villages, street facing shops, construction sites, or video surveillance systems, all can benefit. Plug and play convenience: CPE devices are plug and play, easy to install, and quickly open for business. Manageability of business issuance: The WTTx Suite issuance tool ensures accurate evaluation of FWA business issuance, enabling proactive detection of users with poor quality, thereby improving operational and maintenance efficiency.
